Founded in 1957, Harvard Student Agencies is a non-profit with 12 businesses across various industries that provides educational and business opportunities to students. Managers get the chance to learn about retail, publishing, research, advertising, engineering and more, while making a tangible impact on the Harvard community. With more than 600 employees, HSA strives to defray the costs of education with student wages and inspire the next generation of business leaders.
MISSION
To educate, empower, and inspire Harvard College students with meaningful employment opportunities and hands-on business experience.
VISION
HSA will sustain and grow its legacy by continuing to provide practical business experience for Harvard students as an experiential complement to Harvard’s liberal arts education.
To display its connection to the university and bring its mission statement to life in pictorial form, HSA designed a new shield logo in 1993. The three open books across the top spell out "VE RI TAS" and three quills stand upright in the base.
In most circumstances, the text should be kept with the text. In some cases, the crest alone may be used. Logos should not be reproduced in any other colors than those shown. Nothing inside the crest may be altered.
Feathers
The first represents a writer's implement and the academic pursuits of the students of HSA, the second symbolizes the ancient recording instrument of accounting and the business aspects of HSA, and the third denotes the goods and services provided by HSA to the university, the community and the world.
The red is used to denote our ties to Harvard. In most cases, black and white should be used to demonstrate professionalism, with pops of red to display personality.
The primary Corporate font is Gill Sans Nova. Depending on the occasion, font styles other than SemiBold and Book may be used.
